PFT- DLCO

Hi all!

I just had a repeat PFT (first was 6 months ago, most recent about 3 months ago). Spirometry and lung volumes stayed pretty much the same. However, my DLCO went from 83, 88, now 110.

The technician who administered the test expressed that this was an improvement. Is this true? I know all the results I had are within the "average" range. However, is it really significant that this went up? Is it just a normal variation? Especially since all other numbers remained the same (within the normal or above normal range).

Thank you in advance!

It’s really encouraging to get better numbers with lung tests! I would ask my doctor to explain the test further and what the numbers mean.

Anyone else have any advise?
