Hi. I sometimes feel like it’s a little hard to breathe not like I did when I was first diagnosed last year. I just have to take a deep inhale or feel like I’m holding my breath: I wonder sometimes if maybe all the meds I’m on is preventing me from completely struggling to breathe and that’s why I feel breathless every once in awhile or if it’s that I’ve become hyper vigilant to my breath. Maybe I’m more aware now of my breathing when it’s shallow than previously. Anyone experience this?

Anxiety and asthma
Yes sometimes I feel that way. I have to be careful about my triggers. Mostly animals I feel short of breath. Invested in an air purifier with a hepa filter. I breathe much better
I have an air filter in every room of our house. I can’t figure out what my trigger is. Thanks for replying!
It could be one of the meds you're on causing these symptoms. Check your meds to see what the side effects are. Also, taking something as simple as Claritin D and Nasacrom (which you can only buy on line) has help me with my triggers which is dust, sulfites and cat dander. Good luck!
Yes, I experience the same thing!
In October of 2017, I had my first episode similar to what you are experiencing. I was riding with my husband in our vehicle and felt very heavy cheated and wheezy. Not knowing what was going on, I began to panic. I have had problems with my anxiety for MANY years, but once I was diagnosed with asthma and began experiencing the shortness of breath, I do feel that my anxiety has flared.
I also stop and take a deep breath every few minutes. I believe that it helps open up my lungs more by expanding them, or that’s how it feels.
Take care! You are not alone.
