Can’t Yawn :(

When my asthma flairs up I seem to get tight in my throat/trachea area and I get the urgency to yawn but can’t seem to make it happen. It’s maddening! Wondering if this is common. Anyone else experience this? Any suggestions?

It reminds me of when I was first going out with my wife (some 35 years ago now). She used to wonder at why I was always yawning, but very politely never said anything. Meanwhile, I didn't even realise I was doing it. After a while, once she started to learn about asthma, she asked me if it was connected. I still don't know for sure, but I suspect that there is some odd connection between asthma & yawning.

I do have the opposite problem to you still though, in that I yawn all the time.
