“I am someone who has always tried to live positively with CP. As I say on my website, sophiawarner.com, I am an international athlete who just happens to have the condition. I competed in the London 2012 Paralympic Games - coming 4th in the Women's T35 100m and 4th in the Women's T35 200m - and won a bronze medal in the T35 100m at the Sainsbury's Anniversary Games in 2013. I will never forget hearing 80,000 people cheering when my name was announced at the start of each of those races as, until the Paralympics, I was used to running in front of a handful of spectators.

As well as my athletics career, I am a mum of two young children and Commercial Director of British Athletics, as well as having a variety of animals to look after at home. So life is a bit of a juggling act, as this article in the Guardianshows. I am also involved in motivational speaking at schools, clubs and companies, sharing my story with children, employees and business people. I bring a message that positive thinking leads to positive outcomes, a philosophy that I have tried to live my life by.

I have Cerebral Palsy. I have it for life. But I am going to pack as much into that life as is humanly possible. And I challenge everyone else with CP to do the same.”
