Hi,total newb looking for as much info on lymes disease/rickettsia.(im not lazy ive been reading day and night for weeks btw)my son became unwell several weeks ago after going fishing in leeds england and was rushed into hospital and has been in 5 weeks.he was treated for meningitus for 2 wks due to his symptoms even though tests said negative.symptoms at start were massive headaches especially in sunlight,complete memory loss,aches from head to toe but more so in legs,mild fever turning into crying out in the night and moaning,loss of appetite,not drinking,foggy eyesight or blurred.all the above happened in under 3 days from feeling fine.it took an eye consultant specialist in his 50s to diagnose my son with rickettsia and its the first time hes ever seen it.im putting this on because the photos of my sons eyes were like looking at the galaxy through a tellescope full of white dots.the doctor said along with the hemoraging in the eyes also this was a dead give away for rickettsia caused by tick bites/lymes disease.weve been told my son has had every super antibiotic the hospital can prescribe him trying to get the infection in his body down,many 3 and 4 at a time.hes now just started doxycycline and what an improvement after only a few days.DONT underestimate how bad this disease is,it nearly took my son and has been an horrendous time for us all.
