He was off methotrexate and eventually weaned off oxygen. Now hes had a cough for 2 months and he having a chest xray this week. He gets breathless with any exertion and now back on oxygen when walking. Im very scared we have a lot of plans. He is older then me 78.anyone else similar.

hi Arniestal, oh dear, I do sympathise with you! It’s awful when you have so many plans at a time of life when you have more time to do them and all these things start jumping out on you to stop you. Just got to do work arounds, easier said than done but gotta try. I have RA and ILD. I’m also on Methotrexate and a number of other drugs but luckily not oxygen yet. I have a cough which I have very little relief from except when I get off to sleep. It’s a nightmare. Has your partner tried any breathing control exercises? They don’t magically stop the cough but sometimes can help. You can find them online. Good luck x

Thank you yes he needs to do breathing exercises. Its very bad because we have only been together a couple of years, im 63, met at a bereavement centre. Things are hard enough without this. Be careful on methotrexate, you have to be closely monitored dont you x
