Hi

I havent been on for a long time

My ILD specialist has got me an appointment as a day patient at sheffield hospital on 1st feb Thankfully an ambulance is taking me there & back & my appointment is at 10am so Ive got to be ready to go at 8am

Its for a procedure as I found out i now have pulmonary hypertenshion associated with my ILD

Ive never been to sheffield so dont know much about it .Ive asked to be sedated so I dont feel qny pain or at least i hope not

Im absolutely dreading it When I was first told about it & told there was a long waiting list I was hoping i would have to wait in the long queue/But my specialist has managed to fast track me

Ive told them im on oxygen with 4 litres so theyll set that up Ive requested that mum travel with me but i dont see them allowing it .Im going to smuggle two of my oxygen tanks in case the ambulance runs if it should get stuck in a traffic jam because my lungs only have 88-92% oxygen capacity & to be without it it would drop dangerously & a risk I could die as they cant cope with normal oxygen in the air for longer than 10-15 minutes before it drops

Hi I go to Sheffield hospital twice a year on patient transport. I just use one of my cylinders once on transport they switch it over to theirs and if going to be a long appointment the hospital put you on their oxygen. I only have 25% lung capacity and have been told I cannot have sedation at all. So no procedures for me.

You will be absolutely fine, no one likes going to different hospitals because of the unknown when you get there but it's a great team at Sheffield. Good luck with everything.
