Morphine reaction.

hi all,

Been having this chronic IPF cough for 2 months now and tried everything including the kitchen sink at it to no avail.

GP suggested, as another throw of the dice, i try oramorph.

First couple of days were promising but on day 3 i developed a tsunami style itching all over my neck,legs and chest.

So unbearable i stopped the morphine but sadly the cough back with a vengence.

Has anyone else had anything similar?

I had exactly that reaction to morphine following surgery so now can't be prescribed for the cough. However, I'm now on codeine linctus and oh! The relief! Together with longtec tabs (oxycodone) my breathing and coughing are much improved.
