Weak ASMA result

I have a weak positive result anti smooth muscle titer. Elevated ggt and ALT all other blood tests in normal range, no symptoms except dull pain and tenderness in liver area. Had pain five years now. Doctor said he can’t treat me For AIH as my numbers are well below the typical range? Even if I have a biopsy he still can’t offer a treatment plan, so I should just see how I get on and maybe retest in six months! Should I get second opinion? I’m very worried

Hi Tuppence68

If you think you would feel better with a second opinion then I would seek one. I understand that they don’t want to give you the medication if unnecessary. They aren’t saying you will never get them and are keeping a close eye on you with bloods being redone. I’m sure if they thought the medication was needed they would not withhold them from you.

Take care x
