A year ago today I began a chemo therapy journey to treat my leaukemia; a process that I faced blind, having no idea of what to expect or what the future might hold. There were ups and downs along the way but the positives far out weigh the negatives. So many walked along side me on my journey - many from afar with texts, cards, phone calls and most importantly prayer; some held my hand and dragged me along when the going got tough - the gingerbeer provider, the lemons and crackers and the cheese scones which I craved, the tomato sauce recipe book when all I fancied was tomato sauce! There were tears but also hilarious laughter - New and special friends were made ....
Never underestimate the little things .. The knock at the door. . The card.. The text or phone call .. the hug... The care.. If you think it , do it... It can make the world of difference .
My faith has upheld me in times of isolation and I am so grateful to be 8 months in remission.
In the days I couldn't do much HU supported and encouraged .. The silly question you have is treated with care .. The horrible side effect you need to share finds you with fellow supporters ...
Thank you ... my HU FAMILY ! Xxxx
