Correction, they have taken down that whole part of the website. That sadly makes sense, as they had stopped updating it, and maintaining it would be a wasted effort in these times.

Retired is not the word that they have used. And they are definitely not cowards. At least the one I personally know.From what I read and from what I have already learned..they are just been as helpful as they can be give all the know about it.
Given the is is thousands of videos on this subject with conflicting views.
I think the nhs is right in their approach that the best way is to limit saturated fat intake..to a minimum. .that what we do.
But ofcourse you will just see that as been a troll.

It's not a 50/50 thing. Humans have been eating saturated fats for millions of years. Since before we were human, probably before we were primates. We store our excess calories in the form of saturated fat. Possibly before we were mammals. The seed oils we have been told are better for us were non-existent 150 years ago. The claim that this novel food is healthier for us than the foods that have been the mainstay of many human and pre-human tribes since - possibly - before the age of dinosaurs is an extraordinary claim, and should require extraordinary evidence. There is no such evidence. Read the article, the NHS cannot refute the fact there is no evidence, and falls to the lame "fat is fattening" and my body proves that is not true, at least not for all of us.
If the NHS can't prove that saturated fat is bad for us, they should stop telling us it is. It's a lie that is killing us.
At 9 calories a gram..that's a lot of calories,and calories do make you fat..On the other hand food that has only half the calories, doesn't give you blood sugar spike, is packed with vitamins and minerals and gives you the most energy...
And I do have the same right to be on this forum as anyone else has..
Just leave out the bad mouth bit.

Calories are not the cause of obesity. This is patently bad advice. Restricting calories will make you hungry. That doesn't support a long term plan for maintaining a healthy weight. If you are overweight but still spend a lot of time feeling hungry it's because your body is broken. That didn't happen by eating fatty foods, it happened by eating too many carbs.
Thanks for sharing... I’ve been disappointed on just how many free “January diets” mention avoiding real food (like butter) and promoting “vegetable” oils. I don’t have a problem if people want to try vegan options, but I do get annoyed when veganism is promoted as the solution to obesity. Sugar is vegan! So is smoking 😂
Added to that - I was pleasantly surprised this morning to hear on the early news on Radio 4, that a study has been done that shows that saturated fat (and butter was mentioned) is not bad for us, and pointing out that we need cholesterol for our cells to function! I couldn't believe my ears - it will be interesting to see how much coverage this gets!
It was only a matter of time really, wasn't it? That page contradicts everything else that they say, and was basically an embarrassing fly in the ointment.
I'm absolutely disgusted that the NHS is still giving out bad advice about diet, in these times when metabolic syndrome can be a death sentence instead of a manageable inconvenience: depending on who you ask, the risk of dying from COVID-19 is anywhere from 100 to 600 times higher than people who are metabolically healthy.
