I know it’s only been 2 weeks, but the changes are so amazing! I am still learning to trust this way of eating( which I prefer to the term diet) but I have seen some real shifts in how I am approaching food. I am able to read my appetite so much more, don’t feel grabby around food, hunger significantly less and I can understand how intermittent fasts become a natural part of this. My tastes have changed too. I feel lighter inside and have energy and my mood is buoyant. I know, early days, but I love this way of eating, plus have lost 10 lbs to boot, gobsmacked 😶
Gobsmacked! : I know it’s only been... - Low-Carb High-Fat...
Gobsmacked!
Its like magic, isn't it 😊
Great result!
My partner said it’s like I have found a religion! I know what he means!
LOL - yes, it is possible to get slightly ... fanatical about it 😊
But that's because it works, innit.
Sounds great! Where did you find the diet (sorry, new way of eating!)?
Hi Kimterry ! I wanted to try low carb I had started it because a friend of mine has changed her eating over time and lost weight this way. I think the Public Health Collaboration website is a really excellent place to look first. It was recommended to me by Bridgegirl on the NHS weightloss forum You can read my post there ...Hope that helps! 😎
That's a fab weight loss, and yes I agree with what you say about better mood and energy levels, although I struggled for a couple of weeks, but think I'm back on it now
Hi Caromia, it’s a real learning curve isn’t it. So have you been doing it for a short time as well?
Definitely a learning curve! And the total opposite of what we had thought was 'healthy eating' in the past, but this way makes perfect sense to me? I di it for a few weeks last Aug I think and lost 8 lbs in a couple of weeks, but I was tending to eat the same things and got bored. Then it was Xmas so I thought well im not dieting over Xmas, but tbh I felt so uncomfortable and bloated at Xmas that I actually re started lchf on boxing day- I've now lost 9 lbs in total since then so far, but had a few hiccups along the way, but I'm doing it to try and reverse my prediabetes, so think if I feel better that's a bonus! I've started doing more cooking as well, and trying different recipes to keep it interesting, it's worth it I think
I started this almost a week ago and i have now added cheese and butter in my diet. Although I am now fed up of eating hard cheese. I love cottage cheese though and yoghurt. I can have that everyday all day long. I have always added yoghurt in porridge. Until 3 years ago when someone who worked at as a receptionist at a GP surgery told me that yoghurt was the main cause of constipation. I immediately stopped, still it did not resolve the problem (constipation ). I will continue with LCHF diet and a combination of exercises mainly walking. Thank everyone for sharing.
I get quite frustrated with mates who need to lose weight. Everyone says "wow you look great how did you do it?", but they only take on board that I cut right back on beer and take no notice of the rest!
Then there's the fact that I get off my arse these days and at least walk - "ah that's why". Anything rather than accept what I'm telling them about what I eat!
And then there's the "You don't want to lose any more" comment - they also really can't accept that body decides where it wants to be (so long as I'm being sensible that is!).
I just hope that one day I can convert someone who needs to change (I've got some friends who are really heading for trouble) but meanwhile I'm so glad we have this community for support and expert advice
I’ve started too recently although weight loss much slower but I don’t feel so bloated. Today I didn’t eat until 1pm as just wasn’t hungry. Well done on the weight loss and it’s making you feel good too.
Amazing thank you for Sharing
Was that 10lb in two weeks ?
Hi Lytham, yes it was amazingly! Weight loss has slowed now, but it was a nice kick start and unexpected!
Omg thats amazing ! Ive only just started with this way of eating but feeling very hopeful at the moment !
Good Luck with it, I am still learning lots and really enjoy my food!
I started last week by avoiding carb meals but as of today I actually made a chilli on a bed of grated carrot and I was pleasantly surprised and still dont feel hungry ??? So far so good !
Yes it’s nice to feel satiated by food, I am trying to listen to my appetite and not feel I ‘should be hungry by now so must eat’. Years of being out of tune and at the mercy of cravings means that believing your body ‘knows’ when it’s empty or full, is hard to trust.
Fab JT489 that's so brilliant! I found the changes so quick for me when I started too, so encouraging! I remember feeling like my stomach was shrinking before my eyes. What way do you go about it? Do you have a carb limit or how do you work it out?
