Question about aspirin.

I have Anti B2 glycoprotein antibodies and take 75mg aspirin daily, for that.Also have mildly low platelets which I'm told is cause for petechiae and occasional purple spots. In the past have had heavy periods, spontaneous large bruises and nosebleeds. The spots are now more frequent and now also appearing on my face.

I don't really understand ITP and why at a mild level it is even a consideration and what it means when I have petechiae, I am concerned about whether or not I should be taking the daily aspirin.

Does anyone else have this issue?

ITP patients are generally advised not to take aspirin or ibuprofen because they can have a negative impact on platelets. From your symptoms I suspect your count is quite low which carries health risks. Would recommend having a blood test as soon as possible and also trying to connect with a haematologist with experience in treating ITP.

Taking anything that thins the blood makes my ITP worse. I stay away from all blood thinning products. Make sure you are being treated by a hematologist and have frequent blood platelet checks.

I take a baby apirin every day for my heart issue. It does not seem to effect my platelets. I have had platelets as low as 2 but they rebounded after a couple weeks and are now normal on no medicine. This happened twice in the the last 3 years. So not sure if my situation is different.
