I had a spleen removal. after that my platelets have stayed at 35,000. I have lived a normal life but take precaustions. If I see large bruises, I get a blood test. I avoid getting hit in the head.

I took pills with a name like magabaum. I do not have the name correctly. The pill made my platelets go up to 160,000. There were side effects to the pills. I took only half of the pill. My platelets were then at 80,000. The side effects worried me. I went back to no pill taking. My platelets went back to 35,000. It is nice to know this medicine works and is available. Three years have passed. I am 81 years old.. I work out four times a week and dance two times a week. Life is good.
