If so maybe we could start our own chapter.

Any ITP folk on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada?

Not quite yet!
I do hope there're more of us in B.C. that would chime in though :]
Do let me know if you ever need advice with anything!
Hi, from Quadra Island. Diagnosed 28 years ago. Splenectomy etc. But doing OK.
Robert
Glad to hear that you're doing ok -- both for you and the rest of us. How have you managed, what have you done to have managed for so long? If you ever come to Nanaimo we could compare notes
Sure. I come to Nanaimo 3 or 4 times a year for shopping. I had splenectomy in 1990. That worked for about 5 or 6 years then slowly declining counts. I have some control using good quality organic foods. So I have avoided ivig and prednisone treatments for the last few years. Dr. Hillary Was in Victoria is good.
I see Dr Dementi who comes over from Vancouver
I think I have heard of him. Is he a hematologist or an immunologist or . . . ?
I did see an immunologist when I lived in Winnipeg but she was not really helpful.
Sure. I will let you know when I an in Nanaimo with time to chat. It probably will not be until some time in the spring.
Robert
Who would want to drive on those winter roads even if they are better than the prairies? I look forward to meeting you in the spring.
Dr Denegri is a haematologist. He is very charming. All his patients leave his office with a smile. I credit him with getting me through my knee surgery, although, even with an ivig, I apparently bled a great deal.
