I am waiting to receive a appointment to have a scan on my spleen my platelets are low and my celiac consultant has requested this , has anyone had this request.

Hi, I had a scan on my spleen when 1st diagnosed with ITP. They are looking to see if the spleen is enlarged. The enlarged spleen traps platelets and prevent them from circulating in the bloodstream. Hope all goes well.

I had a ct scan of my spleen and it is normal and not enlarged and they still are planning on removing after this Coronavirus slows down.
