So as I had mentioned in the last post I was diagnosed with ITP 2 months back and being the the hospital for a week and on 1g of solumedrol for 3 days my platelets came to 74k after the discharge I was put on 40mg of prednisolone for a month and my platelets remained in 35-45k after that my doctor lowered the dosage and started tapering it
Now I'm on 1.25mg of prednisolone and my platelets are 66k
Yes I'm facing a few side effects of tapering the prednisolone majorly it's acne all over my face and back but other than that it's all good..
Anyone else on very low dosage of prednisolone?
My doctor said that 1.25mg of prednisolone is a very low dosage and quite safe for long term
Any views on that?

Has your doctor run a vitamin D test ( only saying this because you sound young the way you write Dr.s wont think to check .) Mine was very low i started taking 5000iu Vit D daily for 1 month that tapered down to 2000iu daily. Odd side effect my platelet count went up.
Brief history Female age 52 diagnosed 20 years ago average count 30k for 10 years .Now 7 years of 90k to 110k I TAKE NOTHING EXCEPT VITAMIN D Hope this helps its an easy thing to try
