I got my lab back from 7/10/18 kind of weird though. Is it normal that platelets bounce around like crazy? Last platelet was 113.
This is new to me, can anyone share anything that they find on this lab? I’m happy plt are up but confused..

Platelets can change drastically in 1 day mine have been 30 then next day 108 nobody knows why
That's not really much of a bounce anyway. Look at the normal range: 150-450k. That leaves a lot of room for variation. Your platelets are going in the right direction, and as Lynwoodley notes, it is common for them to rise and fall. If you're in the safe zone still, what's going to matter is your counts over time. I hope that helps.

Hey I’ve had itp for 9 years and yes it’s normal that it fluctuates sometimes high sometimes lower it’s ok! Just be happy your platelets are up you want them to be between 150-450 as long as they run between normal range that’s good! As long as they don’t drop scary low! I have had platelets drop to 2,000 before it’s not fun when you have to rush to the hospital. I hope this helps!
Thank you and you’re right. Its better not to stress about it. They aren’t up to 150 yet but still seems that they are headed in the right direction as Ruth had mentioned. Do you lnow much about nuetrophils monocytes and lymphocytes? I am somewhat more worried about those. I think its just an infection or something though, huh? Doc called and I got my blood drawn again with some other inflamation markers, she says just wants to retest. Have you ever had issues with you white blood cells during your 9 nine years of itp?
I think they increased after surgery when I took my spleen out but they went back down, DONT worry sooo much about the neutrophilis, lymphocytes and monocytes, they aren’t a cause for concern unless your doctor says anything about those markers! Your platelets are higher than last time that’s what matters! Which is good! Try to focus on your platelet count rather than the other markers, lymphocytes are a form of small leukocyte (white blood cell) with a single round nucleus, occurring especially in the lymphatic system. They are just small cells I was worried too at first but my doctor told me not to worry about those. Try some yoga and meditate to keep calm and release stress, I believe it’s the stress we put on the body that inflames our cells to go into flight or fight mode! But whatever your doing is working try to eat a high fruit and vegetable diet with protein to keep your body running smoothly! Limit your alcohol intake! And just be a happy camper! hope this helps!
