Whats the longest gap before it returned

I had ITP in 2012 i had it for 9 months and haven't had it since has anyone else had a huge gap where they were ok, and did it come back after many years?

I haven't had a recurrence since 2013, but my haematologist keeps telling me that it is likely to show up again before the year is out. The first time I had it, he told me that it wasn't unusual for people to get it only once, but those who get it more than once are almost guaranteed to have it on and off for life. I hope yours never comes back!

Hi and yes to your question i was diagnosed with ITP since the summer of 2006. It was a roller coaster from 2006 till oct 2012 was when i last had my IVIG. I was good monthly labs come Sept. 2015 was when I had to be admitted to the hospital with a count of 11,000 had my IVIG and was released a couple of days later since then i have been good no meds but i still do monthly labs. In feb 2017 my numbers were at 116,000 come march 2017 my numbers were at 236,000. Just yesterday i went to do labs so soon i will be calling to see where my count is at...

I've had a 4 year remission before a count of 1 and a couple of months of treatment after which I got back into remission with counts hovering around 80.

My wife has had a number of relapses with over 10 years of 'normality' in between.
