RA with ITP

Hi all, I have recently been diagnosed with RA. Anyone out there with 2different auto immune problems? Got ITP after Yellow Fever Vaccine 1 1/2 years back.

Hello Padram,

I too have RA as well as several other conditions. Lupus, antiphosphalipid, Vasculitis, raynauds. First symptoms starting at age 17 but not diagnosed until I was about 34, several blood clots, one stroke later.

It sounds like you are just starting out so all I can say is while it can be a scary ride, I live a full and happy life but must live within the peramiters or limitations of whatever illness seems to dominate at the moment.

Get a good team of doctors, choose a leader and listen to them. Start on the prevention medications early and don't do the stupid move we all seem to do, which is go off of the meds in a few years because you feel so good.

Thank you Susan. I learnt a lot about ITP here. It has certainly helped me cope with the highs and lows. Will definitely heed your advice of not stopping meds. Thanks once again.
