Just thought I'd share ^_^ hopefully it can help people feel less scared, its only a bruise and if it happens to you after a needle dont worry ...it will go ......eventually

That is a beauty of a bruise. Do you get bruises that size every time you have a blood test? Makes my bruises look tiny. NickyD

Lol yes its beautiful err sometimes , this happened when they took blood and my platelet count was 1 that bruise has also a hematoma in the middle of it. However i have about 3 of these bruises from my latest adventure with ITP. One that you see in the picture, on my wrist and on my leg. All the "Normal" bruises have healed just waited for these big ones to go ^_^

That's a doozy! Do you use arnica gel or cream on your bruises? It really soothes and helps with faster healing. Thanks for sharing and yes, scary but it will go away!

no i have not tired anything, im not conscience about them and what people think so i just let them heal naturally. However sometimes when hemotomas form it can be sore do you know any cream that can help them? Lol oh this IS it healing, you should see the picture of it about a hour after it happened. Funny thing is though the more its healing its spreading out. When it first happened it was only half the size but it was black :S

The arnica gel doesn't really seem to make the bruises go away any faster but it seems to sooth mine when I use it. Also, I always keep away from the foods/drugs/beverages that increase bleeding (pdsa.org/about-itp/warnings.... Best of luck to you!
