Hi

Have been following a low-carb diet for several years to lose weight because of heart problems.

Just had Hb1ac test and my results are going 38, 39, 40, 41! Nurse at surgery said it is my body shutting down! At 80, I really hope not

Hi Hylda, I would of though that anything below 42 is excellent readings for you HbA1c, mine is still at 42 but I want it to be lower as 42 is still pre-diabetic, I’ve been on the xyla diet and have lost 2 stones so far but finding it hard to lose anything below that so I’m doing more exercise now. Why does the nurse think that your body is shutting down with a result like that?

I asked Dr why every blood test my numbers went up and he agreed with her. Old age (80)! I lost two stone on LCHF diet because of heart problems.

Never normally touch bread, biscuits cakes etc and dessert always fruit and Greek yogurt so can’t understand it. He just said when you get to 42 we’ll send you on a course. 🙄
