Covid eyesight?
Hi, My husband was in ITU in a coma with Covid, his eyesight seems to be the only thing that wasn't affected . I had covid but wasn't admitted, I keep getting a black floater in my right eye. As I am effectively my husbands carer and now back at work, I know I need to get it looked at, finding the time is impossible!
I got a floater in my right eye a couple of years ago, I visited my eye hospital as I have other eye issues too, I was told it was an age thing and my brain will eventually get used to it. It has. But this black floater seems to come and go .
My husband complained of blurred vision almost as soon as he was conscious, that was 3 months ago. A few weeks ago we found out he had actually lost half his vision in his right eye and after investigation it showed he had had an eye stroke (prob whilst had CoVid as it’s a clotting virus). That loss of vision is permanent and his vision is also blurred possibly from his low blood pressure causing dizziness or possibly whilst his brain gets used to the loss of vision. Def worth seeing an optician x
I am happy to see you are out of the hospital ❤️ My dad has been out about a month and change he is having trouble w his eyesight he can’t see from far away and his eyes get really tired they gave him artificial tears but not much help.
I was in ICU with Sepsis, not Covid, but they are similar in some ways, I believe.
I had floaters. They persisted for quite a few months after I was discharged.
Five years later, either they've gone or I've got used to them.
