Anxiety, depression & grief after ICU.

This forum sets out to give emotional support to those travelling along the critical care pathway whether patient or loved one. It does have its limitations, (which isn’t always a bad thing). What I mean is we can’t be all things to all men and be a cure-all for everyone, we must stick to what we can do and offer our experience & emotional strength, if you have visited this forum, you are no longer alone ( you may chose not to engage). We aren’t geared up to offer medical diagnosis, recommend treatment or comment on drug regimes. Many of us might empathise with those suffering from anxiety, depression & grief but we are ill equipt to remedy other people’s problems. I can share how I have approached an issue & overcome it, knowing that my experience may not suit another. If anyone has issues arising from critical care and they aren’t resolving of their own accord, it is so important to seek appropriate help as soon as possible.

Tragically, not everyone survives ICU & family members are driven to the limits of their endurance.

Here is a post from a very specialised bereavement group which is now operating on Zoom ( therefore no longer geographically constrained to the Peak District) This was a public post on Facebook.

**Bereavement Support Group via Zoom - Thursday 27th August**

High Peak CVS are incredibly proud to run Bereavement Groups across the High Peak. Unfortunately, current restrictions mean that we are unable to offer face to face meetings currently, but we are working alongside Blythe House Hospicecare to host our support group via Zoom.

The next meeting is due to run on 27th August 2020, please get in touch with Liz on 01663 736426/07702 168187 or Louise at Blythe House if you would like to attend this Zoom based group or to discuss attending the other groups when restrictions are lifted.

We have also put together some information around loss and where you can access support if and when you need it here on our website:
