I know that my rhuemy said my avn and the osteoarthritis can be linked directly to my APS. I have avn in both hipps and osteo in feet ,knees ,spine and shoulders and carpal tunnel in both wrists . But my back pain has other problems, i have a injurded muscles and i also have muscle spasms that we believe can be attributed to the aps . " Aps the gift that just keeps on giving."-------- But we all know , that is far from a gift !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! jet

Could the back spasms be from an unstable pelvis? Which is not holding up its end, so to speak?

Before my current GP agreed that I needed a stronger NSAID for my ever increasing pain, she jokingly referred to my hip pain as " inflamed neighborhood syndrome.". A joke yes. But also a bit of truth there; inflammation crosses boundaries from one system to another, especially if in close proximity. My muscle spasms went away when I used more aggressive anti-inflammatories for the OA.

Good luck.

I'm on warafin. I was told I couldn't use anti-inflammatoris. Isn't that true? Are you talking about steroids?

Well -- since nov. 2, 2011 they have X rayed -spine ,pelvis ,legs ,feet, arms ,neck , head, back--and the conclusion is that this lovely disorder we have can do so much- do we really know the exstent of it's reach ?????? my butt is the only thing that hasn't been effected-- so far . but most people tell me i cause them pain there so maybe that is why?????????? I know Mary my roomate can atest to that -- just ask Sheena - she has been on the phone with me many times and has heard that !!!!!!!-------------------- i could be a proctologist with my record :-) :-) :-) keep the humor coming as it's good medicine for us all and after last week i certainly am one whom could use it .--------- non-flipper-- just walker -till 4 -24- 13 and lots of hope and luck at this point ------------:-)

No. We're not supposed to take NSAIDs with warfarin. I cheat. My first round of oral steroids worked quite nicely and I was able to take a holiday from the naprosyn. Most recent round of oral steroids did nothing. So I'm off to Duke in days now for a steroid shot in the hip. ( But whose counting? Actually it is 15 days and 10 hours to be exact)
