One term down, 8 to go.......

Well have survived my first term as a student nurse, only 8 to go until I qualify in 2014! Have broken up now for 2 weeks so spending some time with my girls.

On January 2nd I'm back on placement at the Eye Clinic where I was for my 'taster placement' - will keep spreading the word, but not much chance where I am. Hoping to get out on the Diabetes screening van and work with the glaucoma research nurses as well as in the Clinic, Day Unit and Theatre.

Wishing everyone a Happy Christmas and New Year :-D

CONGRATS!! I remember being where you are and the excitement!! Was the hardest thing I ever did but I made it and and it changed my life!! Your personal experiences are going to make you an amazing nurse!

Have you signed up for disability services based on condition? I am in the process of doing this now.... Had I known it may have saved me from bombing my first semester when I ended up in hospital- they would have extended my completion time allowed and I wouldn't have had to drop and re-take classes (and re pay!).

All the best and enjoy the holiday break!

PS I am now finishing my BSN so I go right into a MSN or one of the new doctorate programs!
