I was diagnosed with APS after my second miscarriage. I have since had a child followed by secondary unexplained infertility and another miscarriage.I have more or less given up on having another child but i am really struggling to live with the headaches, aches and pains and general fatigue. i was given clexane during my pregnancy but have had nothing since.. Saw a rheumatologist due to severe joint pain after child birth but was discharged and told it was just one of those things after having a child. What should i do? Does anyone know of any speacilaists near south wales? The headaches are getting much worse, stopping me from getting to work and carrying out daily activities!

Hi there, if you telephone Kate Hindle at The Hughes Syndrome Foundation, see on this site, the link to the website, she will be in the best position to advise you. Best wishes, Mary F x
Hi, I was diagnosed with Lupus when I was 24 and had 2 miscarriages when I was 28. Went on to have my first baby at 28 weeks when I was then 30. I had a caesarian but because of problems he was transfered from RUH in Bath to the Children Hospital in Bristol and I lost him at 4 days. The Dr I saw in Bristol was a Dr David James who told me that if I wanted to have another try that he would see me through the pregnancy. Which I am pleased to say I did and Professor David James saw me through my 2 next pregnancies. He was marvellous.
I would say that after losing my first born, when I went back the RUH in Bath for my 6 week check up, I was told not to try for anymore babies as I was not well enough to carry a full term pregnancy. I was pregnant 3 months later. and as they say the rest is history.
I do know Professor James is in Nottingham but I am sure if you contacted his secretary you may get somewhere. Just found his email and will pass it on to you if you want.
Whatever happens I wish you the very best of luck. Try to stay calm and positive always xx
I see Dr Ceril Rhys-Dillon and she's excellent. Very understanding and willing to research things when needed. I see her in Pontypridd.
