I'm quite a bit more than 38 and have had APLS for probably 40 plus years but diagnosed about 9 years ago. Golly that makes me feel old!

I'm 42 had it 21 plus years only diagnosed just under four years ago how I'm still here whilst undergoing so many thrombotic episodes is a mystery especially as some were hidden and I only found out on diagnosis.

Hello, I am 47, dvt in both legs when I was 23! and other incidents.. however despite being a St Thomas' patient at the time, I like many failed the blood tests, so never was told I had this or that it was suspected! MaryF x

Hiya

I'm 42 and was first diagnosed 20 years ago - had already had Lupus diagnosis 22 years ago (symptoms rash, joint pain, DVT & PE), but didn't get APS diagnosis until I had TIA whilst an in patient during a Lupus Flare.

Me too! Age 57, diagnosed 12 years ago. --though I probably "got" Hughes in 1988 when I was 33. that's when the DVTs, migraines and what I called " panic attacks" began.

41, diagnosed 11 yrs ago when my daughter was born however when I was referred to rheumatologist he looked back on notes from when I saw him as a teenager & he had written back then that he was querying autoimmune 'lupus like' disease back then but was inconclusive at that time....

I'm 48, have had Primary APS since I was 22, but wasn't diagnosed until I'd had the condition for about nine years. I've been taking Warfarin for about fourteen years.

I'm 55 and was diagnosed in 1980 at 24 years old. This was after my second miscarriage. I had been having migraines for maybe 6 years before that. I didn't start taking warfarin for a few years, plus two more miscarriages, numerous dvt's and a stroke.

I'm 31 and I was diagnosed 13 years ago!! Gosh seems like the diagnosis rate improved dramatically in the late 90s!!!

I am 41 and have had this APS stuff since age 35. Im in th USA and in my area, there is little knowledge of the APS. I was diagnosed after my second PE in 6 months. The treatment started out being coumadin, then I started to clot even when compliant with the INR. I was placed on a daily injection of Arixtra. The clotting went away (prayers answered) but the disease process still remains now with seizures, fog, left sided weakness and a blur in my brain from the latest MRI.

Hi.

My daughter is 32 and has had it for 15 yrs (officially! ) but I suspect it may be longer because it took a massive PE and a blood clot in her lung before she received medical aid.
