Hi, we are not able to give actual medical advice on prescription drugs, having read up about it, there are some contra indications with APS and anticoagerants.

Its probably best to talk it through with your GP or APS specialist?

Maybe others that are on it can better advise.

I would be very interested in more information about your trial. I have delayed sleep disorder (and APS, EDS, Fibromyalgia plus a long list of other stuff....) and I also suffer from severe migraine. I have used Topiramate the last 13 years, 400mg per day, lifesaver for me, but would be interested to hear how melatonin work for migraine.

I was a patient at UCLH sleep clinic for a year 5 years ago, tried everything they recommended, nothing worked for my sleep problems - they recommended melatonin - my GP refused! I was not old enough, had to be 55 years old he insisted - even though BNF says you don’t have to. I am 55 in 4 weeks time and are planning to have another go with the GP...Any info would be great :-)

Thanks

I've taken it for years now. It's not malignant, but I have a cyst which encompasses my pineal gland ( where melatonin is made,) and it was the doc who discovered the cyst, and reasoned that was the cause of my sleep disorder, and -- suggested melatonin and ... that was that. No more sleep problems.

Yes in the past I have had this when travelling and also for bad episodes of insomnia and it worked very very well. MaryF

I’ve been taking melatonin nightly since it was recommended to me by my neurologist/immunologist. He started me at 3 mg, working up to 10 mg. It was to help migraines as well as sleep. It hasn’t helped the migraines, but it has been absolutely wonderful for my sleep. My APS specialist also gave her blessing on using melatonin, so I have no worries about it.

I just went thru this with my Sleepless problem like 3 hours sleep in 3 nights in a row.WELL anyways i talked to them and no issue was found with the melatonin. So that 's my 2 cents worth ha . I am fairly close to you maybe 4 hours ?? give or take .
