Stressed out

My mum has been being treated for myeloma - which has had a disastrous effect on the APS inr is either really high or really low - just started to stabilise again finally after 3 months of weekly inr tests and I've found a lump in my breast. Here we bloody go again 😢😭

Thank you - doctors appointment this week - the timing couldn't be worse if we had planned it. The girls at the anti-coagulation clinic were brilliant when it was all going on with mum so may contact them and ask if I can have an appointment or a phone consult. Absolutely terrified at the moment but I think not knowing is possibly worse than knowing even if it is something nasty. I'm hoping it's some sort of bizarre reaction to stress! Xx

I am pleased you have a GP appointment coming up, and your idea about the clinic is a good idea, also raise that with the GP, who hopefully will be keen to calm any of your worries. MaryF

That's a good idea - although bless her she happily tells me I know more about the APS than her but she will happily ring the anti coagulation team or my consultant to discuss it if she has any doubts. Think I'm going to have to take a list tomorrow xx

Feel for you, when I found a lump my mind went overboard, even the process of mammogram and seeing the doctor I found stressful. Because of my APS they were reluctant to go further so everything seemed to be prolonged.

The good news for me was it turned out to be non malignant papiloma, which was removed successfully. Not had any problems since.

Try and stay calm (Easier said than done), if INR starts being unstable, get heparin injections to cover you. Good luck and thinking of you xx

Thank you - I'm certainly hoping it's not something nasty but definitely going to speak to the girls about heparin injections if it goes pear shaped again xx

Do go to your doctors.they will refer you quickly to breast clinic.I did and had examination which worried me further as doctor could feel extra lump.Had mammogram and CT scan and thankfully all well.it's such a relief. Worry is awful and makes you further ill.

I have seen my gp and she has referred me to the breast clinic but has also said that she doesn't think it's anything particularly nasty although she certainly wants it checked out properly. It's rather painful today after her examination yesterday which is also a good sign xx

Good, one step at a time, easier said to 'not worry' but try not to.

Hope you get checked out quickly.

Big hug xx

Thank you. I'm trying to stay positive but hoping they aren't too long as it is painful - it took hours after my appointment yesterday to settle down. "Oh that's a bit tender isn't it" after I practically dented the ceiling tiles. Good job I have a good relationship with my gp 🤣 xxx
