For me, when I get cramps I know my potassium is low.

I thought that before and ate 5 bananas in a day trying to get relief after taking muscle relaxers with no help. Eating all those bananas didn't work either and 3 weeks later they found the clot after my leg stop working all together.

hi Missy - yes it is -- i have two types of muscle tremors and severe muscle spasms in feet -calves - thigh - back -arms-neck and -carpal tunnel both wrists- . I get 24 shots in my back every one to two months with a office visit from Pain management in between . sometimes INR has something to do with it BUT not always. they have run blood on this at times with nothing of in blood at that time . nerves do play a roll but then again not all the time. I am in Therapy as we speak trying to figure what it is and now that we have eliminated hamstrings and tendons we are thinking along the lines {what i have brought to her, my doc. Micro clotting } this is what we are going with for now anyways as everything else as been dismissed. I go again for the final appointment to see what she might order for a test possibly a EMG. BUT not sure at this point. will know more weds.. . hope this is of some help -- feel free to ask anything you might want -be glad to help ------C & J

Interesting, I also get cramps in the bottom of my foot where it actually twists it inward and I have to stand up and put pressure on foot to correct it.

I have found that magnesium helps. It is also a laxative, so don't overdo it!

If I don’t drink enough water I can count on cramps that are pretty awful. Hydration has made a world of difference for me even in my fatigue.

i've found that drinking tonic water helps-maybe it's the quinine in it? I used to have G&T's but found I liked it better without the Gin!

How do you use the spray, do you spray it on your legs then rub it in? Never heard of this want to learn, thanks, Cindy

I use mag phos (magnesium phosphate) - either the tiny tablets that you put under your tongue or the spray. For the spray I apply after a bath and lightly rub in - it absorbs very quickly. but only at night as it can make me tired. I mainly get the cramp in my feet, calves, hands or the most painful is under my knee. The Magphos is almost instant total relief from this. My haematologist said no reason for it to be a danger when APS using warfarin but pls don’t use my words as definitive. I get both from Amazon in U.K.

Any dose on the spray?

I find 2 or 3 sprays is enough to stop cramp. The bottle says : “10 sprays deliver a minimum of 200mg (57% RDA) of optimally absorbable elemental magnesium.”

The brand I get from Amazon UK is Better You Magnesium Oil Original Spray, 100 ml.

Cramping can be for a number of reasons, firstly I wonder what your magnesium levels are like but as a priority, you do need to be checked for clots, as some get that when they have an active clot. The other thing I would be checking is your B12, in fact while you are at it, get them to check your Thyoid, D and Iron also. Best of luck. MaryF

I'm worried constantly about an active clot. I'm not sure how often B12, magnesium and thyroid need to be checked. My hematology Dr usually checked for all but thyroid last check was January and they were fine I'm anemic is the only thing & he has me in iron.
