New study: Limiting eating to daytime (10-12 hours) lowers cholesterol, body fat, and glucose levels with same food choices. You?

There have been previous studies that show giving up "eating late at night" helps with diet and health. This new study shows how in a short period of time, limiting a high fat diet in mice to specific hours during the day led them to less bloated fat cells. salk.edu/news/pressrelease_...

I can be skinny on top and gain weight on the bottom. Lipedema. It has to do with the lymphatic system. This doctor has recommended against eating late at night since at least this article in 2012. lipomadoc.org/blog/rad-diet

"Each time we eat we generate inflammation as the lymph system surrounds the gut. Rest the gut by taking a day off and eating liquid type foods such as soups, stews (without meat or at least with pulled meats), smoothies, protein shakes, applesauce, juiced vegetables and fruits."

The purple fat cell pictured here are from the study. Mice that ate high fat diets all day and night have the blown up fat cells, compared to the mice that ate high fat diets (same amounts) but just during the day.

The fat cells in my thighs easily blow up. I imagine those blown up fat cells look like those overblown fat cells in the mice. I have given up eating after 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. and in 3 days I have lost several pounds in water weight. I am wondering if anyone else has this issue.

Being hypercoagulable coupled with thunder thighs (lipoedema) increases my risk of DVT.

If you try this (not eating at night) for a few days, please let me know how it works for you. I still need to eat healthy (vegetables and fruits), walk three miles a day, etc.... -- but if skipping eating at night makes it easier, then I need to get better at sticking with this.

Hi and thanks for posting this. I shall be very interested to know if anyone else finds this works for them. I am currently working with a Nutricionist. Her advice is that I don't eat after 8:00pm. She told me that doing this helps to stimulate the metabolism into action and it helps to drain excess liquid that the lymphatic system retains. Since September I have lost 18kg. I can't exercise to the extent that you do but I go to hydrotherapy three times a week. I am really pleased with the results so far. Both my cholesterol and blood pressure are well within range now and my corporal body mass has gone down by 10%. A dramtic result in my opinion.

Keep me posted on how you get on, as I said I would be really interested to know your outcome, or anyone elses for that matter.
