Hey, just wanted to ask that I recently took a test 8 weeks after possible exposure and received a non-reactive. This was an antibody and antigen test (4th gen. W/ reflux) and I just wanted to know if it was likely to be a false negative because it wasnt 12 weeks. Is it likely or do I have nothing to worry about? Parents keep telling me I’m fine but I’m driving myself crazy here😅

HIV Tested at 8 weeks from possible exposure
Hi , only you know how greater risk you took . The chances are everything is ok , but I'm curious as to why you did not wait the full 12 weeks before being tested ?
It was basically eating at me and I finally told my parents about the encounter and they immediately took me to get tested. It was with a random and they claimed they were clean but with random ppl that can be hard to believe you know. Haven’t had any symptoms but Some things state 8 weeks is basically almost conclusive and others state that 12 weeks is only conclusive. So its just been driving me a lil crazy lately
HIV is actually quite hard to catch , so all things considered , statistically the greatest chance is that you are not infected , and in view of the clear test it is very unlikely . To put your mind at rest take another test after the 12 weeks is up .
Hi Jacob. I have tested numerous times and all came back negative but beluve your results mate dont let your mind play tricks on you. You can even get home tests which are reliable. Cheers
Did u test again ?
