HCV prevalence lower in Iran vs. other Middle Eastern countries

Compared to other Middle Eastern countries, Iran has the lowest #HCV prevalence. Despite the wide range of #infection rates in Iran's provinces, "the strict program of HCV infection screening prior to transfusion, which started in Iran in 1996" may have been the biggest factor for the overall low prevalence rate. #health #hepatitis
