I've just found out this morning I'm Hep C positive.😔😢

I've just found out an hour ago that I have hep C,I'm still getting my head around it,I DON'T understand it all yet,I was crying my eyes out like a big kid,I'm waiting for a letter from north Manchester hospital so they can start my treatment and they need to scan my liver,PLEASE PLEASE ANY ADVICE I WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL,to everyone in here HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS.thank you xxxxx

Hi Bee43, calm down. Breath . I got diagnosed with Hep C last week. I’m also waiting to do a drug screen so I can be put on Meds. It’s gonna be ok tho. Cause we can take the medicine and be Cured!!! I’m scared too because I have multiple autoimmune diseases. It’s a horrible disease but we can kick it’s butt. Try to relax when u go for the scan. Just put your mind on the beach or on a rainy day. Think of something nice. I can’t tell you much cause I’m new to this too. I hope you find the answers you need and good luck on your scan k. Plz let us know how u are doing k. You

I felt just like you, it came as a shock and is very scary and worrying. As the days go on you will find acceptance and come to terms with it.

Stay off google and stick to trusted sites like this for advice and don’t be scared of asking your hepatitis nurse questions.

I’ve finished with scans etc now after two months of being tested for different things. I start my treatment on Monday

Hi bee43 , you're in good company here. I found out September and went into shock. cried bucket fulls. No idea what hepc was apart from knowing I was sick. still don't really understand but I am happy to now be 2 weeks into treatment and I am fine. we do adapt emotionally very quickly too so try to not despair, love & nurture yourself lots! ! 😍💖💖 yes it'll take a while, but the worst is over. You are now in the system & treatment is more readily available. Take 1 day at a time and take those easy

Hi Bee welcome to our club first of all try not to worry! I no it’s hard getting a diagnosis is not like it used to be with the new drugs out now you can be cured😊 I’ve lived with this almost 16 years back when I found out the treatment never even worked in most cases and lasted months.Now with these new drugs I’m seeing people clearing the virus in 2 to 4 weeks🙌 treatment lasts 8 to 12 weeks with a 97% of recovery.Do your best to refrain from google etc.It’s gonna be ok! Try and eat healthy and do your best to avoid alcohol not the best time of year but your Liver will thank you for it if Manchester is anything like here in Liverpool I doubt you will be waiting long for treatment.Once all your tests are out the way things move pretty fast.I went last week was even given a date 4th of next month. If you ever need to talk I’m here and I know the same goes for the rest of our all stars ⭐️ Lots of ❤️ Cathy x
