I have been taking Mavyret for 2 weeks and happy to say NO side effects but I do have a question. I've had Hep C since 1985....after tests 3 weeks ago viral load 4 million …. No Cirrhosis (Great news to find out). Now since I found out I had Hep C I started taking Milk Thistle and to make a long story short my Liver Doctor does not want me taking any of my Herbs or Vitamins for the 8 weeks I will be taking Mavyret (?????) I stopped taking a Liver Cleanser but would like to know has anyone stopped totally their supplements....i.e. Vitamin C..... Multiple Vitamins without Iron and if you would be so kind please tell me your thoughts on Milk Thistle (Should I stop taking) ? Also don't understand why my Doctor wants me to stop my Vitamin C and Multi Vits w/o Iron. I'm taking my Mavyret after dinner and drinking a lot of water....I also do the Gym 3 days a weeks and Cardio. Again I would be pleased of your thoughts on stopping ALL my supplements and I would hope someone could give me their thoughts. Again very pleased with no side effects and looking forward to my first blood workup after my 1st month. Wishing everyone the best of luck and keep the Faith.

I took milk thistle for years before my 8 week treatment with Mavyret. I did not take it while I was being treated but I did take my other vitamins without any problems. After my last blood draw the hep C is undetectable. I didn't have any side affects at all while being treated. It was great, so glad I can say Hep C is gone! I wish you the best.

Thanks I talked to my Doctor today and he said taking Milk Thistle during treatment along w my Vitamin C and Multiple Vitamins w/o Iron ……SAID NO TO GARLIC AND THE LIVER CLEANSER which I had already stopped. Just taking my Vitamins a Milk Thistle in the morning...Mavyret in the PM. Bottom line when taking my Mavyret NO Supplements at all. I never thought Milk Thistle would be a problem anyway....getting ready for dinner and to take my Mavyret. Half way through my 3rd weeks and still No side effects and going to the Gym tomorrow (3 times a week)…..feeling great and with my Faith and taking care of myself (my Viral load was only 4 million) am hoping for a big drop when they do blood work after 4th week...ordering my 2nd 4 weeks on Thursday to make sure it's here when my 1st round of meds are gone. Thanks for your response and feeling very good about this medicine. Best of luck and will keep your informed after I get my blood work done. Glad to hear it worked for you in 8 weeks praying I have the same results. Doctor said 8 weeks should do it with my low viral load and No Cirrhosis. One last note if I don't feel my viral load has dropped significantly the 1st month although I am expecting it to...I'll stop the Milk Thistle and might even stop everything the last month. I can live w/o it if I want to. Keeping the Faith and Prayers and am very happy for you.

Sounds like you are on the right path to be healthy again. I have to see hep c dr. one more time in November then I am all cleared. During an ultra sound I had for the hep c they did find a spot on my pancreas so now I will deal with that organ with a CT scan later this month. Just glad the hep c is gone. Getting old is not for sissies but it beats the alternative! Just taking it one day at a time! Life is good! Keep the faith!

When he did all my tests before I started the Mavyret (13 tubes of blood and my Ultrasound) … they found nothing except slight Fibrosis so caught everything just in time and from hearing about others viral loads I do think mine isn't that high.....but like I said started the pills and working well in fact going to the Gym today. Make sure you take care of your pancreas and again happy you are clear of the Hep C which I hope to be soon. We'll have to stay in touch …. like I said I'll keep you up-to-date on my blood tests checking on my Viral load. One day at a time is the way to go and keeping the faith. Have a good day

I don't know if I told you, but my viral load had remained the same for almost 10 years and I think that was because of the milk thistle. I know it helped. I haven't started taking it again but I think I will now that I am finished with treatment. Hang in there!

I think Milk Thistle had a lot to do with my viral load staying below 300,000 since I was diagnosed in 1985. Also when I got diagnosed my liver function numbers were astronomical and within one month they were normal and believe it or not they still are but my viral load jumped above 4 million. I'm still taking milk thistle along with vitamin C... Multiple vitamins without iron... And my probiotics. When I take my MAVYRET after dinner each night I don't take any alternative medicines or vitamins because the doctor told me not to. I was at the gym today and still not having any side effects. Starting my fourth week tomorrow so I will be getting blood work done after my fourth week... I'll let you know the results when I get them back but I'm feeling fine and happy but I'm not having any side effects. I know that you said you stopped taking milk thistle when you started MAVYRET..... Not sure if I should stop or not but I am just taking one dose and that's in the morning no alternative meds and no vitamins in the evening when I do the MAVYRET. Did your doctor tell you to stop taking milk thistle during your treatment or did you just do it? Have a good night my friend

Good Evening...….Got Great news today. Doctor called me as I'm in my 6th week of taking Mavyret to let me know all the labs came back after my first month of taking Mavyret AND results shows Hep C NONDETECTABLE. He asked if I was still taking it and advised him Yes an he said not to stop which I had no intentions of doing so will do labs again end of September but was more that thrilled to hear the news. Just a couple weeks left of Mavyret which has been a blessing and he said he sees no reason the Hep C will not remain Nondectible …. so just finished dinner and took my 3 Pills and PTL....Praise the Lord and Thanks for your thoughts and hope you are still doing well. WOW UNDECTABLE AFTER THE FIRST MONTH...Couldn't believe it but WILL finish all that I have left.

I just saw your update, Outstanding news. Though never having HCV my life has been part of the HCV world since 2000. What a change these DAA treatments have made, 98-100% cure rates vs 30-40%, few if any sides effect and as short as 8 weeks tx vs debilitating sides and tx lasting 48+ weeks.

It is a new day. If only my Carla had been able to hang onna few more years.

I've been managing/Admining multiple hepc groups for years. I think your only doing 8 weeks tx? Great!. Otc supliments/herbals aren't regulated and there's no oversight regarding ingredients so it's best to avoid during tx. MT? Flushes your liver including the meds making the less effective. We say to stop MT 2 weeks before until 2 weeks post tx. Why post tx? The meds be are still in your system and doing their job. This is your health and life,
