We have launched a national campaign in partnership with footballer, Fabrice Muamba and Bolton Wanderers Football Club (BWFC).
In March 2012, Fabrice collapsed on the pitch during a game. He had suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. Luckily there was an automated external defibrillator (AED) in the stadium, which helped to save his life.
Around 100,000 people in the UK every year are not as lucky. They are killed by sudden cardiac death.
We want to tackle this by placing at least 500 new AEDs across the UK, get 500,000 pulses checked for irregular heartbeats and train 200 First-aiders on CPR and AED training.
