Hi all, my Verapimil used to keep my HR OK then it became apparent I needed an increase dose so I now take 4 40mg daily. Should I consult my GP about increasing again. Waiting for a CV. Any thoughts please.

Certainly , consult your Dr etc first.

Yes, always consult with your doctor before increasing any medications.

Hi Ethel, There comes a point sometimes when medication doesn't help any more and I guess that's why you really need a cardioversion to get your heart back into sinus rhythm. If it's going to be a long wait, or if this is really troubling you (and I know it can be so exhausting), then no harm in asking your doctor if there's any wiggle room to increase your dosage until you are called for your cardioversion. Sometimes though a higher dose of anything can cause side effects of its own, or be actually dangerous, so of course you must ask first.
