Has anyone had any issues with certain fruits and/or vegetables triggering their arrhythmias or causing some extra symptoms? I have always known that certain foods such as MSG, certain food coloring, alcohol etc aren’t my friends but I’ve never had an issue with fresh foods yet recently I’m starting to notice a few things that have me going “hmmm....”

The three occasions I ate blueberries I had attacks of AF, never touch them now - too scared. I know for sure that artificial sweeteners are also a trigger.

Thanks for the response! It would be interesting to know the real reason why certain foods can be a trigger. I understand all the preservatives and “fake” food setting things off but why the natural stuff!

I recently suffered real breathlessness. The doctor said that I had doublets and triple beats. She said it was temporary and told me to cut out eating chocolate and drinking wine and tea. I have suffered arrhythmia in the past and have a pacemaker but I tried her solution and it went away.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah caffeine and alcohol are major triggers for most. I cut out coffee, soda and caffeine except chocolate back in 2003 and finally stopped consuming chocolate in 2013 after it triggered me too many times. Totally stinks. I hate how many things can aggravate the heart. It’s like can it just chill!
