I'm New but Has Anyone Had Chest Pains After an Ablation?

I had an ablation 2 years ago (December 2017) for WPW and ever since I’ve had chest pains and I’ve thought I felt some weird heartbeats. My old cardiologist kept putting me through tests. Now I’ve gone to a U of M doctor. He wants me to do an MR Cardiac but I’m not sure if that’s necessary. I’m starting to think it’s my WPW since it showed back up on my EKG again. These chest pains are daily and multiple times a day without an answer as to why or a solution for them. I’m not sure what to do or which route to go... has anyone else experienced this? He told me that the MR Cardiac shows different things than the Cardiac CT Angiogram I had but I'm unsure if it's truly necessary to have... Does anyone have any insight into this?

Hi I've experienced chest discomfort/pain and breathlessness on exercise more since my 2nd 'successful' ablation for PAF (op in Nov 2018). I also have been experiencing runs of ectopic beats, machinegun heart beat, odd congested feelings in my chest, raised bpm either when sitting or during following or at a gap of hours following getting too physically tired (no stamina at all). Some days I have no noticeable issues or only a little chest discomfort and breathlessness when doing easy walking, other days I can suffer from a variety of issues with no real noticeable trigger. I also seem to suffer worse from ectopics and other odd beats more when in bed sleeping or trying to sleep.

No idea why this is happening but Specialist team does not appear worried and claim it is not related to the ablation - I'm not convinced. There appear to be a number of people on the forums who have experienced odd arrhythmias and symptoms following ablation. I guess burning nerves and scarring the heart is something which is likely to raise odd side effects. I believe that there is a possibility of some constriction of blood vessels as well - really hope all settles down in time, Magnesium taurate or citrate does appear to help my heart to quieten down a bit.

Thank you for your response and glad I’m not alone but sorry you’re dealing with it too!! I’ll keep that in mind though!

Hi! I just saw your post from 4 months ago. My 17 year old daughter just had an ablation 6 days ago for WPW as well. But I am worried because she has been complaining of chest pain since the 3rd day after the procedure. She says it's a sharp heavy pain. Are you still experiencing the chest pain? She also says her heart beats weird or flutters now. I about wish we didn't even go through with this.

Sorry I just saw this.... I hadn't logged in in a while and didn't get an update. Yes, I'm still experiencing the chest pains even till this day. I've had 2 doctors not find anything or give me any answers. I've been through all of tests without it showing anything. I feel the same way as her. I wish I had answers or knew what it was..... :( How's your daughter doing?
