Hearing goes in and out and ringing?

Just background on me. I am a nineteen year old male smoker, who listens to music quite loud.

For a few months now, my ears have been going in out, more often when i’m moving, smoking or have a hood up, it has been quite a concern but I have just been hoping it would go. Just now I have been listening to music and have taken my airpods off and can hear this non stop ringing, that none of my family can hear. I am, of course, quite worried as I suffer with health anxiety and hearling loss / deafness is one of my biggest anxieties. I am aware that smoking can affect your hearing and have been smoking heavily for about four years now… but people smoke 40+ a day for decades and remain fine. If anyone could reassure me that I am infact not about to go deaf or if there is reason to be worried!!!

Thank You.

sounds like tinnitus, loud music can cause that.

Yes it does sound like tinnitus - you need to make sure you are listening to music at a safe level right now - your iPhone should warn you that the volume is too loud. Better to turn your music down now than end up with hearing loss - it’s no joke.
