I am having hysterectomy following bleeding due to fibroids. Have been told I can keep my ovaries and cervix if I want. Not sure whether to keep cervix as not much information online or from doctor. Has anyone kept cervix and why?

I didn't keep anything of mine! Had full TAH/BSO on 14/12 mainly for fibroids but possibly something underneath which is currently in the lab as we speak. I didn't want to keep a thing due to the higher risks after the op so elected to get rid of it all. I never want to be in the position I was in again. I have found the whole hysterectomy experience shattering. It's a brutal op and I only wanted it once. Just trying to be real. People don't tell you everything. good luck to you x
