Update from yesterday

As you know I was due to have my op yesterday, after self isolating from my family in my house for 14 days and fasting, I went in at 12 to be told at 4:45 that it’s has been cancelled. The lady before who has the same thing as me, had complications during surgery so it went on longer than it was supposed to. I felt so upset for that lady and hoped she would be ok. But it has led me to dreading the op now I’m terrified, I now down for the op on 29th July.

Can asked about having the cervix removed has this led to difficulty with intercourse

Oh that’s awful, poor you. Try and pick yourself up and start all over again, although that must feel pretty hard to do right now I guess xx

Sorry this happened. Each surgery is different. Please take care and don't worry. I was a bag of nerves before mine and on the last day I realized nothing changes if I am. Being worried and not being worried won't change the outcome but it will make your experience much better if you are a little bit more relaxed. My cervix was removed unexpectedly. The doctor was supposed to only remove the uterus but during surgery they ended up finding that the fibroid cells are in the cervix too. It's only been 3 weeks since my OP. So far so good. All the best for you on yours. X

What a nightmare for you! It really is awful to be cancelled at such a late stage and after all your preparations both physically and mentally. Unfortunately this is not uncommon these days. The good news is that the vagina is a very stretchy organ and it will not be an issue for you. Take care and I hope it all goes smoothly next time x

I’ve had my cervix removed and it has made intercourse so much better, didn’t realise what a difference it would make, it’s a pleasure now instead of a chore.
