Has anyone had toes so tender that that they are very painful if touched by the bed clothes or in shoes.

You are describing the exact same thing I went to see my GP about!

The pain I get in the big toe on my left foot is totally excruciating !!! - it's in the main joint at the beginning of my toe. Just the weight of my quilt is sheer agony or when my toes are cold.

GP said it could be gout but unlikely based on questions she asked, she thought it was more likely to be Arthritis!

I happened to be seeing a physiotherapist a few days later & by chance was offered a free Foot Check Up, with the Podiatrist..I'm SO glad I went!

Not only was I advised to have a course of cortizone like injections over a 3 week period into the joint to lubricate it as such.

I had to pay for it unfortunately, so stupid as I'm sure I could've got it on the NHS...it was super painful to have but it really really helped!!

I was pain free for several weeks !.. it has returned slowly, although nothing as frequent nor painful!

My advice..go see your GP...Good luck!
