Are hazelnuts good for lowering cholesterol? I have a tree which have loads on. I usually give them away to neighbours, but not if they’ll help lowering my cholesterol

Thanks

I love hazelnuts and looked it up on google, yes a handful a day is even better than almonds from what I read.

High fibre foods are recommended to help lower cholesterol. Make sure the rest of what you eat is high fibre too.

Fresh hazelnuts (not dried these maybe also called wet but they will have still have the outer coating protecting the nut) are in the shops now but coming to the end of the season. Maybe too late but try to get the hazelnut when it is still green.
