Today I made Shanibars erm Shaniballs😊 which was recommended by one of the lovely member from this group. It's easy to make, no baking needed, no sugar, gluten free. I used homemade cashew nut butter, dates, organic raw cacao powder, unsweetened grated coconut, pinch of salt(optional). I made balls instead of bars. Also rolled some of them in chia seeds. They are so yummy and great for snacks😋🙂

I don't snack much but the protein balls are great as I read protein snacks help you sleep better. It's all about hormones. Protein increases tryptophan which is a key ingredient for sleep. Tryptophan increases serotonin and serotonin increases melatonin-the sleep hormone. I can admit I do sleep better since I started to snack protein balls. The other best thing is that you don't need to add sugar, just add dates or other dried fruit like cranberries or cherries, or add cinnamon. I feel so much better since having less sugar in my diet😀
This sounds like a great idea for me to have with my protein bar before bedtime when my blood sugars are lower. Thank you for posting this for everyone.
