We went for a walk today around Folkestone Harbour. Its 34 here today so the sea breeze was a welcome relief.
We also had lunch in a lovely vegan cafe. Its been such a lovely day.
Around the corner the beach was absolutely packed. It was like Costa del Folkestone although lots of children having fun in the water.

Myself and my friends went to Folkestone back in 2010 for a turkey and tinsel bar break and had a walk along the leas there and down to the harbour and we had a trip to Canterbury as well which is a lovely city.
Today in Cardiff its been overcast and humid but I have managed to get out for a lunchtime walk and was hot when I came back home!
That sounds lovely. It's so hot even in the evening. Makes a nice change though. We are lucky as Folkestone and Herne bay have had money put into them over the last few years and they are much nicer which has opened it up to give us more options of places to go. Enjoy your day and try to stay cool!
What a beautiful looking day Ali and the sea looks so inviting, I bet you wanted to get in. It's been hot here today but I don't know what the temperature has been, we had thunder and lightening this morning and it's so muggy.
Ooh I bet the lunch was yummy, so lovely to have a Vegan cafe.
I bet it did and great when someone else makes it. Our Vegan cafe us still closed as they are waiting for plastic screening to go by the tills, I can't believe it's taking this long, I really feel for the owners as they are losing out.
I went to Canterbury for the first time in ages today and it’s 50 50 what was opened and closed. Seems odd some cafes, restaurants or pubs aren’t open when they can be. We went to the vegan cafe there as it’s been taken over but mainly to walk along the river. I think if you were going to open you would be open now. Wagamama queue was running down the high street. We didn’t go in shops Etc but got a table outside of the Veg box cafe which was nice. I think it’s all become a bit of a faff Eating out so it’s easier to be at home. Lol until tomorrow and I get hungry again. Phil has taken a couple of days off so we’re trying to go out locally.
It does seem to be like that here, some are still shut here as well. I agree particularly with the 50% off offer, the cafe I went to today had the offer. The Vegan cafe I go to are really desperate to open but it's the darned delay in the screening, I really do feel for them.
I love a walk along the river and a cafe to be by a river, what a lovely position. Personally if a queue was like that I wouldn't bother.
It is a faff eating out and going in shops, mask on off, on off and then you take a different rucksack and don't have a mask🤔.
Oh for normality. But, saying that, most of us have been fairly fortunate, I know all of my family and friends are safe and well. One of my friends had COVID and was in hospital for a few weeks but has no lasting effects and is fully recovered.😊
Thank goodness your friend has recovered. We don’t know anyone affected.
Lol we walked into the town in the sweltering heat to discover I’d forgotten my mask and had to go back to the car where I’ve got about 50. It’s because I hadn’t bothered to take a bag. I’m going to get a little bag with a hand strap so I can put my mask and debit card in there! 👍
Yes I'm so very very pleased for her, she was one of the early ones, she had it in March.
It's not just me them LOL. I've now got one in my handbag, cycling rucksack and walking rucksack as well as some in our kitchen drawer. I bet I'll still forget and bot have one LOL.😂😂

I think covid was around long before March as quite a few people myself included had what we thought were heavy colds but looking back I suspect it was covid before it was officially christened!
Where I used to work there was a vegan cafe over the road and i got invited there by a friend from the welsh class so off i had gone and it was different to my usual scoff with things like edameme beans and salads.
Earlier in the year myself and my sister in law went to a new place that had opened in the city centre called the ivy which was a different experience as it reminded me of being in park lane in London rather than Cardiff!
