The edge of storm Deirdre πŸ’¨

β€’8 Replies

Hi everyone,

Well yesterday we had storm Deirdre so there was very heavy rain and wind, in the afternoon when the rain stopped I went for a walk and walked up the hill to the edge of the next village as the views there are spectacular as its high up and on the other side of the River Severn to the city of Gloucester and at night it looks so pretty.

I find it visually exciting where East meets West and the environment changes and here we have the edge of the storm clouds on the horizon the forest meets the countryside and the Estuary, then there's the city. I think the light shows how atmospheric a day it was. Even the forest looked like it was taking a puff of relief...

The wind was piercing and my eyes were running it was so windy and exposed up here and then it started to rain again so I'm made for home it was about a 3 mile walk.

I rarely let bad weather stop me going out as I like to just get out there.

Hi Hidden

Good for you, getting out there despite the weather - and such a lovely view. Dramatic sky-line. Wow - an atmospheric day.

Zest :-)

Thank you Zest, I walk up here early evening sometimes and looking further north can see the docks of Glos illuminated when I live at the bottom of the hill in the forest, I've had my garden gate bashed in by hooligan wild boars. I've a please keep off the grass sign and they don't even use the gate...😊

Sorry to hear about your experience with those Wild Boars! So rude! I hope they'll be more considerate next time.

Beautiful photo Jerry. It looks like you have everything on your doorstep. I love winter walks if you have the right clothes on! πŸ™‚

Thanks Ali and I agree and prefer having exercise when its not baking hot and humid.

I want to walk more as walking is load bearing whereas cycling is the opposite and can lead to thinning of the bones, I already have osteopenia.

I've a neighbour a few doors away and they have a chocolate brown Cocker spaniel so I may offer to take the dog for a walk with me sometimes as he/she lies on the window sill looking out longingly. 😊

Aw Jerry that would be lovely wouldn’t it. Walking is so relaxing and I suppose you can mix things around a bit.πŸ™‚

I LoVe storms... l feel closer God when it rains... always have. Don't know why... I bet my grandmother put that thought in my head years ago. God Love Granni! She's been gone for years but still with me in so many ways. When my boys were little we jumped in puddles...Great Fun. Too bad my grandchildren didn't enjoy it... there goes another family tradition.
