I have got an appointment with a neurosurgeon.

Can any one tell me if this is just protocol. Another thing that is confusing me is I had an MRI about 5 months ago that showed shrapnel in the inner skull and brain, and three neurolagists confirmed that it was there. I have spent the last three weeks in a place called headly court down Surrey and had an X Ray done that doesn't show anything at all, so confused is a slight under statement. Does anyone have any suggestions? ?

I spent a while down at headly court too!! Did you get a copy of the films from your original consultants with a copy of the report? If so ask the Service Doctor what he believes is in the mri. An Mri shows different things to x-rays. They also show much smaller things than other imagining. If it were metalic fragments then they should really show on x-ray.

Did you get a chance to ask what they thought was in the mri or did you find out after you had left headly court?

Is it a service neuro that you will be seeing or a civvy? Lots of questions i know!! If you did have an injury caused by something in service then you would be entitled to a war pension. If you are ex services you can get help from SAAFA and RBL for help with forms assessments and anything legal too. I didnt find out till too late that i didnt need to lose my home after my accident. We asked for help with moving costs because we ended uo homless.

Write your questions down so you dont foget them and ask for a writeen answer so you are certain what it is, if you have memory problems.
