Christmas ......yak

How are you suppose to like christmas when you are all alone and no one to visit, cuddle up with, chat with or eat with.... no parcels to open here feeling very sad and alone

its really a horrible time of the year when you face it alone , i did for 12 years and its not easy ... just have to keep faith with humanity ... try to keep your spirits up !

My 4th xmas since my SAH and i got a pup in the summer to help with the total emptiness in my life.

still thinking about you , dont take this the wrong way Mark but i found my other half through a dating site ... you have to weed through the gold diggers ! but there is the odd one that has the same values as you .. 6 years ago i met my better half after 12 years in the wilderness , i first began to chat as friends because the distances was to great for me , (so i thought) a classic homer simpson move by me .. theres no way im living downsouth .DOH.. lol , i moved from bolton to bournemouth 6 years ago and she's my rock ... all im saying you dont know till you try , i hope i fire your curiosity to take a look .. you just never know !

my 6th since injury but 1st with nowhere to go but made the best of a bad wet day been to church to give thanks and pray for those less fortunate soon lodger an i will sit down to a real christmas lunch cooked by his girlfriend

Yes my little fella and I have been blessed with one for the past week but thankfully I was at my family's for Christmas so didn't have to cook yesterday. Hope you feel better soon x

Hi jigsaw, sorry dont know your name, Insane week... in hospital but home now, been struggling with pneumonia for 3 weeks and as a result now have pleurisy.....feel absolutely awful,thank you for you advice and much needed hug.

I really hope you are feeling better. I have many plans in my head for 2013 to try and get myself out of the sad feelings I have sometimes. Realistically, if I just get one or two off the ground that will be good enough for me! I understand how difficult it is just to make yourself get out of the door sometimes but people do care and going to headway or speaking on here does help. Speak soon and take care, Linda xx

Definitely get a cat. I went to the local Cats Protection League and asked for their most stupid and confident kitten; they fulfilled their brief very well! Please don't feel alone; I agree with Jigsaw that volunterering at a Headway centre or similar could make all the differene.

It seems you have many friends on here too! I hope you get a lot from your local headway group. I loved it once i got past being scared silly. I did some art courses too which was great fun buit extremely tiring as i was concentrating a lot anf getting exhausted mentally. It really helped me socially.

Even when you have people around you, it is lonely. Especially when those people profess to be friends. I have many supporters but no one who actually cares enough to see what I am doing on New Year's Eve.

My daughter is still in hospital so we spent the afternoon with her.

A friend of mine spends Christmas in London assisting at a Crisis centre. She loves it. I will look into something like that in the future.

Mark, I do understand a little about how your feel, its hard to be the person that you used to be, some days I just cannot be the happy, crazy person I was. The other day I took myself to the cinema, I have never done that on my own before, but it was great, only my choice of pick n mix, and I could be quiet without offending anybody, it seems selfish to put yourself first but it helps sometimes, big hugs, LInda xx
